{"id":13554,"date":"2019-11-28T08:54:02","date_gmt":"2019-11-28T03:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bahria.edu.pk\/?p=13554"},"modified":"2024-10-28T11:18:14","modified_gmt":"2024-10-28T06:18:14","slug":"bu-holds-national-conference-on-iqbals-philosophy-for-personal-social-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.bahria.edu.pk\/index.php\/bu-holds-national-conference-on-iqbals-philosophy-for-personal-social-change\/","title":{"rendered":"BU holds National Conference on \u2018Iqbal\u2019s Philosophy for Personal &#038; Social Change\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<label id=\"lastUpdated\">Last updated on October 28th, 2024<\/label><p>National Conference on \u2018The Inclusiveness of Iqbal\u2019s Philosophy and its Potential for Personal and Social Change\u201d has been organized by Bahria University at Islamabad Campus.\u00a0Objective of the event was to pay tribute and inculcate the philosophy of Allama Muhammad Iqbal in young generation.\u00a0 Chief of Naval Staff\u00a0Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi Nishan-i-Imtiaz (Military)\u00a0who is also\u00a0Pro-Chancellor and Chairman Board of Governors Bahria University graced the occasion as Chief Guest.<\/p>\n<p>2 day event included key note speeches, panel\u00a0discussions and research paper presentations related to Iqbal and his wisdom. Bahria University is promoting\u00a0intellectual thoughts and visionary message of\u00a0national heroes and scholars\u00a0through academic and literary pursuits. Eminent Speakers included\u00a0Professor Fateh Muhammad Malik, Mr. Iftikhar Arif and Dr. Shahid Siddiqui who also shared their intellectual thoughts on the subject. Conference actively explored Iqbal\u2019s philosophical and practical guidance through academic exercise and probed ways for its implementation in different domains of an Islamic state.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Chief Guest of the ceremony, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi NI (M) in his remarks emphasized that \u2018two aspects of Allama Iqbal\u2019s thought are very important, firstly Iqbal\u2019s philosophy is based on Quranic teachings which is affirmed by many scholars and secondly Iqbal\u2019s inclusiveness.\u2019 He added that our young students should take the message of Iqbal and be motivated to implement in their personal lives.<\/p>\n<p>Bahria University has established \u2018Iqbal Chair\u2019, a body which specifically focuses on objectives for implementing teachings of Iqbal amongst university students in an organized manner.\u00a0Earlier in his welcome address,\u00a0Rector Bahria University Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat HI (M) thanked worthy guests and speakers for their presence.
