BAHRIA UNIVERSITY SUMMER SCHOOL ON CORPUS LINGUISTICS
The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Bahria University Islamabad is going to organize a Summer School on Corpus Linguistics at Bahria University Islamabad. The summer school will take place from August 26-29, 2024, and will be conducted both online and on-site in Islamabad, Pakistan.
This program provides a comprehensive opportunity for researchers, scholars, students, academics, and professionals to delve deeply into various facets of corpus linguistics. Distinguished trainers from prestigious national and international universities will conduct the sessions.
Topics to be covered include:
- Exploring online corpora
- Corpus building and corpus cleaning (English, Urdu, and other languages)
- Using a corpus to investigate phraseology
- Corpus-based approaches to discourse analysis
- Exploring and analyzing the Urdu corpus
- Linguistic annotation of the corpus
- Analyzing sentiments through corpus approaches
- Exploring metadiscursive features through corpus analysis
- Analyzing collocation networks, semantic preference, and semantic prosodies
