Shehzad Ahmed, Joint Director (Research & Development) at the Ministry of IT & Telecom, is a graduate of Bahria University in Bachelors of Computer Science (Hons) and Masters of Computer Science (Majors in Communication & Networks). He then went on to study Business Administration at Cardiff University UK where he earned his MBA degree (Majors in Marketing & International Business).
Mr. Shehzad Ahmed holds an extensive experience of more than 11 years in the field of Information and Communication Technology. He has been involved in several policy initiatives and reforms of national significance such as Policy for Next Generation Mobile Services in Pakistan (3G/4G), Biometric Verification of SIMs (BVS), Free Trade Agreements and MoUs with other countries and formulation of Telecommunications Policy 2015 etc. Additionally, he has served as Secretary to the R&D Fund Policy Committee, which is chaired by the Minister for IT & Telecom. He has also represented Pakistan at international conferences/fora organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT).
